Vang Vieng, Laos

Flying into laos was easily one of the prettiest plane descents I’ve ever done. Humongous mountains and sprawling landscape littered with a few tiny villages. As Laos is rather difficult to get to it is missed off my many travellers which makes being here more special.

Vang Vieng was truly beautiful! The city is no bigger than masham but filled with temples. In the surrounding countryside there are hundreds of hikes to go on and secret lagoons to find.

As a backpacker Vang Vieng is known for its tubing – essentially you hire a big rubber ring and do a bar crawl on the river! Thankfully there are big ropes in the river to pull yourself out at each stop! It was hilariously fun and just a really lovely chilled few days here.

Travelling around laos is an experience. There is one road that goes north to south, and by road I mean big dirt track! Whilst travelling around I’ve seen 2 overturned lorries and been on a bus that felt more like a crazy rollercoaster, banging your head off the sides and jumping off your seat as the bus speeds through pot holes is definitely an experience!
